Since 1940...
Our
Story
Ledger K Walker was a farmer in South Georgia when he made the decision to move his family to Gainesville, Florida, as a means of providing his son Benny L. Walker with more opportunities and a better life. Along with his wife Myrtice, Ledger opened a small 1,600 sq. ft. furniture store in downtown Gainesville with two guiding principles in mind:

​After years of hard work, Ledger and Myrtice purchased property on NW 8th Ave. Their son, Benny L. Walker, began working with them at this location, learning the trade and helping to grow their family business into what it is today.
In the late 1980s, the third generation of Walkers joined in and continued to help expand Walker Furniture to four store locations totaling over 50,000 total sq. ft.

In 2008, the decision was made to open a new southwest showroom at 3413 SW 47th Ave. Then, in 2020, this location was expanded to consolidate all Walker Furniture stores into one convenient 43,000 sq. ft. showroom.
